About Baptism

Baptism shows that you’ve trusted Jesus, accepted Him as your Savior, and made a commitment to follow Him for the rest of your life. It’s an outward expression of the inward change that happens.

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’" Matthew 28:18-19

The symbolism of baptism is of death (going down under the water), and resurrection (coming up out of the water). It’s a mirror of the death and resurrection of Jesus. When Jesus died, everyone assumed it was the end. He even said, “It is finished.” That’s what we say when we’re baptized. We’re saying that we’re finished trying to control our own lives.

But the miracle is that when we say, “We’re finished,” God says, “It’s not over.” We come up out of the water a new person. It’s not that we’ll never make another mistake, but we are committed to give God control over this new life that he created for us. Some people struggle to believe “it’s not over” for them. They think that the damage is so extensive there can’t be a repair, but God is able to do what seems impossible to us.

So, we want to invite you to take the next step in your relationship with Jesus, and be baptized. We'll have everything you need, including a towel and change of clothes that includes a t-shirt that says "Its Not Over" that you can keep! 😁

When we say, “We’re finished,” God says, “It’s not over!”
