Child Dedications
"I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:27-28

Child dedication is a chance to celebrate with parents who are making a commitment to raise their children God’s way. We embrace the responsibility God has given us to make a difference in a child’s life.
Parenting isn't easy, so theChapel is committed to equip and empower parents in their calling, and help families raise God-honoring kids. We are honored to be entrusted with that privilege.

Child Dedication Values
Child dedication is a Biblical tradition where believing parents, and sometimes entire families, publicly commit to raising their child in alignment with God’s will and the principles of the Bible. It’s an opportunity to seek God’s guidance and blessing as you commit to nurturing your child in faith.
What child dedication is not:
While child dedication is a meaningful act of commitment, it is important to understand that it is not a declaration of faith or salvation for the child. Instead, it is a step taken by the parents to dedicate themselves to this responsibility. We believe that the decision to follow Jesus is a deeply personal one that each individual must make for themselves. For this reason, we wait to offer water baptism until children are old enough to fully understand and embrace this significant choice.
The parents’ role in child dedication:
By dedicating their child, parents are making a heartfelt promise to raise their child in a way that honors God, prayerfully and with His guidance, until the child is ready to make their own decision to follow Jesus. This commitment involves creating a Christ-centered home where faith is lived out daily. Parents fulfill this commitment by:
- Teaching and guiding their child to live according to God’s design.
- Modeling Godly behavior through their own example.
- Providing loving discipline that reflects God’s truth and grace.
Through these efforts, parents help their child grow in faith and dependence on God.
