What child dedication is not:

We believe that the decision to follow Jesus is a deeply personal one that each individual must make for themselves. For this reason, we wait to offer water baptism until children are old enough to fully understand and embrace this significant choice.

The parents’ role in child dedication:

By dedicating their child, parents are making a heartfelt promise to raise their child in a way that honors God, prayerfully and with His guidance, until the child is ready to make their own decision to follow Jesus. This commitment involves creating a Christ-centered home where faith is lived out daily. Parents fulfill this commitment by:

• Teaching and guiding their child to live according to God’s design.
• Modeling Godly behavior through their own example.
• Providing loving discipline that reflects God’s truth and grace.

Through these efforts, parents help their child grow in faith and dependence on God.
